Thania, class of 2021, is a first-generation, Latina college student and soon to be the first college graduate in her family. She will also be earning minors in Spanish and painting. According to Thania, œThank you so much for this amazing honor. I am incredibly grateful. I want to see more representation of Latina women in the communications field and hopefully be of inspiration to those who come after me. I hope to open my own public relations firm in the future that will focus on helping small Latino business owners so they can excel in their particular business.
Since 1983, CUPRAP has awarded the Diversity Scholarship to a deserving minority student. The scholarship is open to all minority and LGBTQ students attending an accredited CUPRAP member- institution.
Selection of a recipient for the $2,500 award is based on academic ability, communication skills and creativity as demonstrated through work samples and financial need.
CUPRAP is hoping to officially recognize and celebrate Thania ™s win along with the 2022 winner during the CUPRAP 2022 Spring Professional Development Conference.
