Established in 1839 as a literary academy, Bloomsburg University is a comprehensive public institution offering 56 undergraduate programs and 58 minors along with 20 graduate programs, including a doctorate in audiology Located on 366 acres along the Susquehanna River, the campus features 73 buildings including seven residence halls, three university-owned student apartment complexes, athletic facilities and an outdoor adventure property featuring a 50-foot climbing wall and high ropes course. In addition, to an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic program where more than 500 students participate in 20 sports (including Division I wrestling), there is also an enormously active intramural and club sports program which attracts over 2900 students.
