Northampton Community College serves students and the community by offering more than 100 career and transfer programs, customized training for local businesses, professional development and leisure courses for adults, a youth program that enriches the lives of more than 2000 students in grades K-12 each year, adult literacy classes, and high tech manufacturing support. The College prides itself on being student-centered. The faculty is comprised of many outstanding teachers including the 2009 and 2011 Pennsylvania Professors of the Year. Graduates include a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist, the director of a documentary that won an Academy Award, as well as many accomplished nurses, doctors, radiographers, teachers, business leaders, artists, chefs, architects, engineers, computer pros, scientists, auto technicians, and emergency responders. Known for its innovative and high quality programming, Northampton has been the recipient of grants from the U.S. Department of State, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Science Foundation.
