A professional internship is required prior to graduation and the balance of 65% studio course work to 35% liberal arts course work ensures professional preparation by each graduate. For life-long learners, we offer credit and non-credit courses, certificate programs, and workshops and classes for teens and youth as part of our continuing education program. In fact, PCA&D is one of the few non-profit, private art and design colleges in the U.S. that is located in a city of less than 1 million (Lancaster city and county combined total about half a million). This speaks to the unique role of PCA&D in this region, and speaks of its success in providing what the region wants and needs in visual arts education.
