Dartmouth is staying with Seuss name
Dartmouth College’s Medical School, named Geisel School of Medicine, will continue to be named after Theodore Seuss Geisel and his wife, Audrey. Dr. Seuss, as Theodore is known, is a graduate of Dartmouth and wrote more than 60 children’s books. Last week, Seuss Enterprises determined six of his books will no longer be published due to racist images. According to this Inside Higher Ed article, Dartmouth decided to keep his name on the school because his work has inspired millions and this is a way to learn from his shortcomings.
