We seek a Communication Manager who can help to share these stories in creative and engaging ways to thousands of social media followers on a variety of platforms. This position will focus on proactively and effectively promoting a positive image for USciences using public relations, media relations, and a specific emphasis on the growth an enhancement of social media and digital platforms. At the core, this position requires highly effective communication, across a variety of written and digital materials. Reporting to Associate Director, Communications, this role is a key partner to our Enrollment and Marketing teams, as well as our Senior Administration and Events team.

Job Responsibilities

This role will be one of the primary liaisons with internal and external stakeholders to network and promote the University’s message, mission, and goals through:

  • Producing all multimedia content and crafting social media campaigns to emphasize the strategic vision of the university through various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. If it tweets, likes, shares or sends, we want it talking about our excellent students and programs!

  • Acting as multimedia content creator on campus including taking photographs and shooting video during events, activities, and in support of campus features to effectively communicate our brand with target audiences. We want our photos to tell the story of University of the Sciences!

  • Interviewing faculty, students, alumni and friends, researches, writes, and edits web content, social media messaging, press releases, media advisories, feature/news articles, marcomm copy, and email. Tell the world who we are at University of the Sciences!

  • Monitoring and supervising social media activities during and after hours. Executes and maintains analytics for social media platforms using best practices to develop key indicators to set benchmarks, gauge success, and drive engagement with constituents including prospective students, their parents, current students, and alumni. ​

  • Actively seeking to generate earned media placements across various media channels (print, radio, TV, digital, etc.) by leveraging existing and new contacts with the media.  Effectively builds relationships and communicates with the public and internal constituents as a key representative of the University. ​

  • Maintaining and ensuring timely execution of Daily Dose news clippings and the monthly Insider email newsletter.

  • Supporting the Associate Director, Communications to plan, develop, and execute a successful expansion of the University’s awareness that supports enrollment management goals.



  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in journalism, public relations, communications or related major.

  • Some applicable experience developing and managing social media campaigns for promotional purposes.

  • First rate communication skills, both written and verbal; our Communications Manager will be out and about, don’t be shy!

  • Excellent analytical skills to track media effectiveness.

  • Artistic eye and ability to tell a story and engage through multimedia content.
