Digital Media Designer

Albright College is seeking applications for a Digital Media Designer. The digital media designer is responsible for strengthening Albright’s brand and digital presence through the creation of online media including video, photography, animated graphics and digital design, and the archiving of these assets, in support of Albright’s web, digital communications, and social media. The digital media designer is also responsible for scheduling and mentoring student photographers and videographers as needed. The digital media designer reports directly to the creative director, and works in cooperation with the web developer to achieve online strategies. As a member of the Communications team, the digital media designer will collaborate with the web developer, creative director and director of communications to create and implement Albright’s brand strategy initiatives, to mindfully represent Albright’s diverse community of learners in all forms of communication, and to strengthen the college’s online presence.

 

Job Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1.Responsible for the creation and archiving of video assets and photography to promote and market the college; design of college digital media including html emails, online communications, videography, animated graphics, and photography to support online digital communications and social media.

2.Participate in project planning with creative director, director of communications and campus partners as necessary. Work with needed vendors to ensure quality, competitive pricing and delivery.

3.Ensure brand consistency in all promotional materials, and advise campus partners in appropriate use of logos, type, etc. to further the college’s marketing objectives.

4.Schedule student photo and video freelancers; work with creative director on photo/video shoots, and mentor student media interns when available.

5.Contribute original material to the photo and video library archives as needed and whenever possible to increase media assets.

6.Participate in campus activities, serve on committees, or perform other administrative duties as needed.

7.Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with a broad range of cultures and backgrounds.

8.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications/Prerequisites:

1.COMMUNICATION

a.Must be service oriented and able to effectively and collaboratively work with and communicate on the phone, in person and via email with team members, campus partners, freelancers and students.

2.SKILLS

a.Excellent design abilities

b.Working knowledge of video production and photography, animation and digital production

c.Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 6, After Effects, Adobe Rush, WordPress, and video and photo archiving software

d.Experience in LightRoom, PremierPro and Media Encoder preferred, but not required.

e.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams), social media platforms and Hootsuite or comparable social media CMS

f.Ability to manage high volume of simultaneous digital projects

g.Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with partners to create digital assets on time and within budget

h.Ability to work as a collaborative member of the Communications team

i.Ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment

3.EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE

a.Minimum of five years design experience.

4.EDUCATION

a.Bachelor’s degree in the digital arts or equivalent, or extensive field experience.
