Job Responsibilities

This person would primarily be expected to:

1) work directly with the President to review, improve and manage AICUP’s general communications strategies, including:  overseeing final production of 2-3 annual publications; helping craft occasional op-eds, periodic communications with PA college Presidents, talking points on higher education; handling press inquiries; monitoring statewide news media relating to independent higher education.

2) directly supervise and develop strategies to enhance AICUP’s public presence in digital, visual and social media.

3) collaborate with all staff on AICUP’s three major annual public events–the Presidents Meeting, the Campus Leaders’ Forum and Student Aid Advocacy Day and assist lead staff on Student Aid Advocacy Day.

4) make final recommendations to the President on select newsletters, brochures and other publications generated by staff.

Requirements

Required Skills: excellent writing and editing skills. Ability to manage websites, social media sites, and some aptitude for digital communications, as well as the ability and willingness to learn new software and hardware solutions to streamline outgoing and incoming communications. Self-starter who is flexible in day-to-day responsibilities and enjoys working with a team. Bachelor’s degree required. Salary range between $65,000-$80,000 depending upon experience.
