The Career Service Center is accepting applications for a Marketing and Events Coordinator to provide strategy, oversight and implementation of the Career Center’s marketing efforts; to effectively manage the Center’s event planning and execution functions.

Job Responsibilities

Execute internal marketing and communication strategies for Career Center ™s events and services. Coordinate efforts of staff and students assisting with marketing efforts. Ensure brand consistency across all marketing and communication outlets. Create engaging written and multimedia content for a variety of audiences (i.e. students, alumni, family, etc.) across a multiple channels (i.e. print, email, online, etc.). Coordinate with Creative Services liaison to utilize campus-based design services for print and digital marketing. Coordinate campus-wide visibility initiatives (tabling, contests, etc.). Maintain Center ™s presence on university ™s Master Calendar. Create and distribute e-newsletters, email blasts, and possibly multimedia marketing. Coordinate and manage center ™s social media “ Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. Partner with student groups and other campus constituents to educate and engage students in Career Center programming. Evaluate effectiveness of communication efforts through monthly data reporting and analysis. Provide budget oversight and procurement of all marketing related expenses, including negotiating pricing and maintain inventory of marketing promotional items.

Support and/or lead career fairs and other career programs/events: coordinate with Events and Conference Services to reserve facilities and communicate set-up requests; plan and coordinate catering and parking; manage registrations and communicate with employers; manage and monitor payments and invoicing; work with program leads around event specifics and to prepare event materials; collaborate with Administrative Assistant II on supply ordering; and contribute to overall operations and administrative elements of Career Center events and initiatives.

Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Career Center marketing/event interns. Provide career-related and significant professional work experience to support both student learning goals and Career Center goals. Monitor work quality, productivity, and deadlines while providing constructive feedback and coaching. Maintain timekeeping and personnel records. Conduct mid-semester and end-of-semester performance evaluations.

Participate on the University Marketing Committee and Student Affairs Marketing Committee. Seek out professional development opportunities, attend meetings/webinars related to event and marketing functions.

Requirements

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or other related field
One year of administrative, budgeting, and/or event planning experience
Experience planning and executing events
Superior organizational and communication skills;
Strong computer skills (database programs, Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a team environment
Quick learner
Experience with the application of equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace
Knowledge of issues related to the needs of a diverse student population
Experience with print, digital, and social media marketing and communications

Preferred:

Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Social Media, Peoplesoft, Handshake, TouchNet
