Penn State Harrisburg is seeking Marketing Communications Specialist to serve as a strong communicator responsible for developing marketing and public information communications to publicize the mission and strategic priorities of the college to a variety of internal and external stakeholders. This position will create content for a variety of platforms. This is a writing intensive position, with primary responsibilities that include writing news and feature stories, social media content, web content, video scripts, marketing materials, advertising copy, and presentations. This position would also assist with developing marketing content strategy and executive messaging.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will be curious, creative, and prove to be a strong writer
  • This person must be able to interpret information, ideas and instructions and communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing
  • The position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The successful candidate should possess basic understanding of public relations and marketing concepts, and be proficient with most Office Suite applications, including Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel
